Zeus PEEK Thin-Wall Tubing, Tan, 30 AWG, 0.010" ID, 0.019" OD, 0.0030" Wall, 72" Length Overview

The combination of PEEK material, thin walls and large size range (from miniature .007" to .335") make for a product development dream. PEEKs inherent purity and lubricity make it an ideal choice for analytical and life sciences applications. Its continuous operating temperature of 500 degrees F coupled with the tough, abrasion resistance and stiff properties yield a truly unique tubing used as a conduit for fluids, gasses, fiber optics and wire. The tubing may also be fastened into mechanical matrices yielding strong, lightweight, high temperature chemically-resistant structures. With the exception of concentrated sulphuric acid or nitric acids, PEEK is extremely resistant to a wide range of chemical environments even at elevated temperatures. PEEK is a highly crystalline thermoplastic that will withstand multiple sterilizations from all known methods. Material is made from USP Class VI material. Color is tan.

PTFE is the purest, most inert material in the fluoropolymer family. The unique properties of PTFE (sometimes known as Teflon) has made it the polymer of choice in many advanced applications. With the lowest coefficient of friction of any polymer and an extremely broad temperature range (-454 Degrees F to 500 Degrees F), PTFE has been designed into products from advanced medical devices to high temperature industrial equipment. Because of its unparalleled chemical resistance and excellent chemical inertness, PTFE has become the benchmark plastic for the chemical, bio-medical and analytical sciences industries. Small Parts Inc.stocks these miniature thin wall sizes that you probably wont find anywhere else.

Mylar Polyester Insulation Tubing .625" ID x .006" Wall x 48" Length Overview

Mylar(R) polyester film is an exceptionally strong, durable, transparent film with high tensile, tear and impact strength. It is moisture and vapor resistant and is unaffected by, and does not transmit oils, greases and volatile aromatics. It not only retains these properties but remains tough and voltage stable from -80 DegreesF. to over 300 DegreesF. Mylar(R) has one of the highest dielectric strengths available in a tube form. Even at its top rated service temperature of 150 DegreesC., its dielectric strength is still 5,000 VPM. It is also completely inert to water and therefore offers excellent dimensional stability with no reduction in dielectric strength that may be caused by moisture absorption in other materials. Since this is a spiral wound product it is not recommended for pressure applications however liquids and gasses may conveyed through it. Typical uses include coil forms, capacitor covers, electrical insulators, and all applications where superior moisture resistance and dielectric strengths are desired. Mylar(R) is a DuPont Registered Trademark

When thin walls, tight tolerances and high strength are required, Polyimide is the material of choice. Polyimide is in the select group of super polymers and is now available in micro and miniature tubing sizes from Small Parts. Our tubing has a thermal rating of -452F (-269C) To 700F (371C) for continuous use application with a dielectric constant of 3.4. This material is considered a benchmark for polymers in electrical insulation applications. This tubing exhibits exceptional dimensional stability and has very high burst pressure ratings. Excellent column strength and high stiffness has proven to provide good push and torque properties making polyimide tubing an excellent choice for catheters that are guided through the body's vascular system. Other uses include high strength, temperature and chemical resistant push rod tubes, and miniature structural matrices. This tubing can be steam, gamma or EtO sterilized and has excellent chemical resistance. Polyimide tubing can be bonded with cyanoacrylates, UV and room temperature cure epoxies.

Kapton (Polyimide)Tubing .625" ID x .006" Wall 12" Length Overview

Kapton(R) polyimide film is an extremely strong, spiral wound transparent amber film that retains its high dielectric strength over a very wide range of temperatures. It remains flexible at liquid helium temperature minus 269 Degrees C and does not lose its strength until it reaches a temperature of 815 Degrees C. The maximum tubing temperature indicated in the properties chart is lower since the sealing agent used in the spiral winding process to produce Kapton(R) tubing limits its high temperature usage. Tubing made of Kapton(R) offers a rare combination of a high dielectric strength within an extreme temperature range. Kapton(R) is flame resistant and begins to char only above 800 Degrees C. It does not melt and is self extinguishing. It has excellent mechanical properties and is practically unaffected by moisture. There is no known organic solvent for Kapton(R). Due to the spiral winding process this tubing is not recommended for pressure applications however liquids and gasses may be conveyed in it. It is classified in the Superpolymer category of plastics and the benchmark for electrical and thermal insulation.
